    Pollution and your skin

Ever wondered about the impact air pollution might be having on your skin? You’re not alone.

Over the last few years, researchers have turned their attention to how pollutants affect our skin. And they’ve found air pollution is linked to various skin problems – including premature skin ageing, age spots, allergies and dull skin.

The pollutant that affects more people than any other is particulate matter or “PM”.3 PM is a complex mix of solid and liquid particles from a variety of sources, including heavy industry, vehicle exhaust and fires.

Fine particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometres or less (PM2.5 or smaller) are of particular concern, as links have been found between exposure to these particles and skin health.

And because our skin acts as a natural barrier to pollution and environmental aggressors, it’s one of the first targets for these pollutants – regardless of whether you live in an urban or rural area.

Apart from pollution, makeup, sunscreen and skin care products can also build up on your skin over time, even if you cleanse daily.

Over time, this build-up can clog pores, cause breakouts and blackheads, and cause skin to look dull and lose its natural radiance.

Taking the time to deep cleanse to remove these pollutants and impurities is a crucial first step to keeping your skin healthy and radiant.

That’s why we created Purity Specialist, our unique new two-step system for detoxifying your skin. Used weekly, its concentrated botanicals allow you to purify your skin naturally.

     Your new skin detox ritual

The Purity Specialist treatment ritual includes two NEW products that work together to remove pollution and product build-up.

The first step, Purity Specialist Compress Concentrate, contains a blend of purifying botanical extracts to help open pores, release impurities, and prepare skin for deep cleansing. It’s rich in antioxidants to help purify your skin, and protect it from pollutants and premature ageing.

The second step, our creamy clay Purity Specialist Treatment Mask, deeply cleanses and lifts away impurities softened in the first step. Its natural ingredients exfoliate, smooth and invigorate to give you radiant, healthy skin.
